Jewelry and Watches
In today's world, jewelry and watches are important items for reflecting your personality. With a wide range of qualities and prices, jewelry and watches are at the service of almost anyone who wants to give hints about their personality or the mood they are in. Two pieces of swaying, colorful earrings can mean you are an easy-going person, and you can handle jokes well; a simple wooden bracelet and necklace may show your love for nature, whereas a high quality, dark colored, square watch may signal to others that they need to be serious around you. One can even defend that the absence of any jewelry and watches may mean that you have somewhat of an introverted personality and that you would not like to give others any excuse to start an easy conversation with you. Historically, too, jewelry and watches have been popular items. Excavations made in the oldest lands, such as Ancient Egypt and Greece, proved that jewelry especially has a long history of symbolizing beauty and status. The gold artifacts found in the land of Pharaohs, in Tutankhamen's tomb, suggest that in 3000 BC, jewelry was present and its primary purpose was to reflect status. As for the case of watches, it is argued that the first personal watch must have been used in the Renaissance era. In Shakespeare's play, As You Like It, Touchstone takes out a sun-dial from his pocket and starts to contemplate about the concept of time. Obviously, his watch is not anything similar to the watches we use today; it must have been a mini version of the huge dial of Ahaz, invented thousands of years ago, which used the sun's shadow to determine time.
