The Foambowl, developed by Marcel Wanders for Droog Design, uses an ingenious process that celebrates the intricacies that can be achieved with porcelain. To create this piece, Marcel Wanders developed a technique wherein pre-shaped foam is dipped in a fluid porcelain clay slip, which penetrates the foam. Once the sponge has dried, it is fired in a kiln, burning the sponge away and leaving a perfect porcelain replica of the sponge. Made in the Netherlands.
