Flat Panel TVs
Lets face it. Normal tube televisions are slowly becoming a thing of the past or at least they are not being purchased as frequently as the newer, thinner, flatter, better picture quality LCD and plasma televisions. Tube televisions are pretty inexpensive and the picture quality is okay but they are cumbersome and take up a lot of space. You also have projection televisions which have very large picture screens but they must be positioned at just the right angle to be viewed or the picture may seem dim or faded at times. This is where the flat-panel TV rises to the top. These televisions can be as thin as a couple inches and can be placed just about anywhere. They have different mounting hardware that will allow you to mount them on a wall, on the ceiling, in your kitchen, den, and even your bathroom. There are currently two types of flat-panel TVs available, LCD and Plasma. Whether one is better than the other is really a matter of personal taste and preference. LCDs are lighter than plasma televisions and can be thinner, however both have the ability to be wall mounted. LCD televisions have a brighter picture than plasma televisions but their contrast is not as good as plasma televisions when in dim lighting. When mounting plasma televisions be sure to give the proper clearance for ventilation as these televisions run quite a bit hotter than their LCD counterparts.
