Tablet pcs
Tablet PCs Tablet PCs are a wonderful adaptation in technology, but then can have their drawbacks as well. A basic tablet PC is usually a laptop (though touch screen desktops are starting to hit the market now). The laptops are usually no larger than 15" on the diagonal. And the screen will have a single, small, hinge in the center of the bottom of the screen, allowing the screen to rotate 180 degrees and be folded down. This feature allows the user to write on the screen of the tablet like they would a piece of paper on a clipboard, but it also allows the user to use programs and such in the same configuration. This interesting take on computer technology started coming to the market around 2004, and is just now only becoming popular. A lot of companies sold early versions of these laptops, but they were expensive, running as much as $3000 for a higher end model. Today you can purchase a cheap tablet PC for less than $1000. These early tablets tended to be bulky and not made for anything other than professional business use. However, when companies discovered that people other than business professionals were buying this new kind of laptop, they started building hardware to handle things such as photo editing and drawing.
