Health is more than just having low cholesterol and lower blood pressure. Although, having low cholesterol and lower blood pressure is good, there is so much more that is involved. Good health begins with a healthy lifestyle that includes eating nutrient-rich foods, moving enough so that your cardiovascular system performs at peak performance, laughing enough to maintain a positive outlook, and loving so much that life stays exciting and fulfilling. Without proper nutrition, exercise, a positive attitude, and love, you are not the best that you can be; and, to maintain good health, all of these are necessary. They are the main ingredients needed to keep your body healthy, sometimes in spite of what the numbers seem to say. Usually, though, when combined, they are necessary to lower your cholesterol, normalize your blood pressure, keep your blood sugar on an even keel, strengthen your heart, and, in general, keep you in tip-top condition. It is an unwise person who sits on the couch all day watching television, eating high calorie junk food, and hating those who take the time to keep their body in shape. Such "couch potatoes" begin to get depressed, and with the negative attitude comes negative habits. Negative habits keep you at a standstill so that you can't progress to good health without major changes. On the other hand, positive habits propel you forward, and help you to stay in a good health mode. Living positive habits, such as drinking pure, clean, water instead of drinking beer, soda, or coffee, revitalizes your cells, and it helps them to work at their maximum level.
Eating nutrient-rich food, instead of fast food or junk food, is also a positive habit; and, it keeps your body systems healthier than if you indulged in the high fat, high sugar, low-nutrient foods that cause your body to cry out for life giving vitamins and minerals, fiber, and enzymes that are so lacking in those kinds of foods. Exercise, too, is necessary to keep the muscles toned and the systems within the body able to use the nutrients from food more efficiently. It is also necessary to carry toxins that accumulate within the body, from all that is taken in, out of the body through bowel, bladder, lung, and skin elimination. Those who get no exercise begin to get sick just from muscle tone breaking down, and later increased problems from body systems, and organs breaking down. Therefore, it is important to keep your health at peak performance by practicing positive habits, and by giving up negative habits that you may have acquired over the years. Your health and your very life depend on eating healthy foods, drinking enough water, keeping your body toned and strong, keeping a positive attitude, and loving yourself and others more. Good health is your responsibility.
