Tetris is a puzzle game that involves strategy and critical thinking skills. Falling pieces must be arranged in order to create a matrix that clears the lines out from the bottom. Each falling piece must be turned and rotated so it fills all squares without ant gaps. When 10 lines have been cleared the player is taken to the next level. The difficulty grows as each level is complete. Tetris features 15 levels of play. As with everything, Tetris has seen many changes and improvements since it first began. Game play has many variations, and in time, the way the game is played has also changed and improved. Things such as the ability to see three tiles at once have been made. Other variations of the game include faster speeds and different colors... And, while most people argue that video games are not good for you, science research shows that Tetris is quite the opposite! Players show an increase in efficient brain activity while playing the game. This means that players are using the parts of the brain that need to be used. Cognitive functions, such as critical thinking and reasoning skills are also improved with the playing of the video game. Such a popular video game that is not only fun but good for you too! Maybe this is why it has been a favorite of many for all these years!
